Animations

In last weeks lesson we looked at the differernt technology in education. Using our wiki's from the week before we made a presentation and showed the class. My presentation included the new 21st century technology such as whiteboards and computers and how they help children.
We then went onto look at animations. Mandy told us about an application called "2simple". Here we created our own individual animations
We then presented them to the class and told classmates how we did it.

Creating a Wiki

In last weeks lesson, Mandy put us into groups of 3. I was in a group with Lucy and Sophie. Mandy gave each group a topic, ours was "Education of today in Wales." Within the group we had subtitles and had to go onto the internet to find information. My title was "What is the technology like in Schools in Wales?" I visited different internet sites and found that teachers are now using 21st century technology such as whiteboards and computers.

Preparation

We are now starting to focus on our first assignment in Mandy Peace's lesson. We have to make a portfolio of a specific thing. I think this can be anything you want. Mandy gave us older assignments and we had to give them a grade A-E and then she told us their actual grade. We got given an assignment each, I had a boys portfolio which was all about his life in the army before Uni. There was alot of writing about what he had acheived, yet not detailed photographs or drawings so unfortunatly it did not catch my eye. Infact it was quite bland. The girls sitting next to me however, had a girls portfolio, the girl told the story of her life having pictures of a girls holiday, her brothers and sisters and her hobbies etc. The pages were bright and so colourful so I would give her an A!

Reflective Learning

I beleive "reflective learning" is looking back at a peice of work and simply reflecting what you have learnt. It can also be looked at as assessing your own work to see if you think you have reached your target. Reflective learning can help a student to understand their strengths and weaknesses by seeing where they have gone wrong. By looking back over my work I can recognize areas that need improvement
Reflection can lead to greater self-awareness, which in turn is a first step to positive change and growth in both personal and professional contexts. Taking time to reflect can help you identify approaches that have worked well, and in that way reinforce good practice.

Mind map - Reflective Learning

Here is my first creation using bubbl.us :)!

My First Presentation

Last week in my ICT class in uni I was asked to make a presentation on something that interests us. We could choose who we wanted to work with and I chose my bestfriends Lucy and Sophie. These girls are also from Neath and were in my Comprehensive school so I felt relaxed and confident working with them. It was hard to decide a topic but during conversation we came up with festivals, maybe because 2 of our other bestfriends worked at one this year (Reading).
Music festivals have a great astmosphere, there is a unique mixture of people and music. I have only been to one and that was called "Escape into the Park" I am determind to go to more! I witnessed an amazing vibe where thousands of clubbers flocked to one place.
Firstly we used our own computers and typed into Google "Music Festivals" we all came up with different internet sites that we thought were useful but Lucy's seemed the most accurate.

25/10/11- Mandy Peace Lesson

Today in my ICT lesson we have carried on finding out new tips and tricks on www.blogger.com. I have now updated my profile by adding a search bar so followers can look more specifically and I am now following educational blogs.
Today we have also been talking about "reflective learning." We wrote down words that came to our minds. Here's mine :

·        Rethink over tasks
·        Repeat
·        Correct any mistakes, can see where you have gone wrong
·        Find out what you found hard or easy in the task
·        Room for improvement
·        Trial and error
·        Helps understand the topic more
·        Evaluate and criticise
·        Absorbing – gain knowledge
As a class we then went onto https://bubbl.us/ using the white board. Everyone gave their words and ideas and at the end we greated a huge mind map.
